Current Events Discussion

**Full with waitlist**

Ron Foyer   David Elliott

Participants discuss national, local and international current events.  We aim to provide a place where people can explore ideas and express points of view in an educated and non-confrontational way. The group has been going for at least 10 years it must be doing something right. (members have changed over the years!!)

The format of the meetings can be either:

    •  a one-hour detailed exploration of a topic, led by a group member or members, with the second hour a facilitator-led discussion on various current topics, or
    • a two hour “bring your own topic” session where various members give introductions on very current topics and then lead short discussions of them.

Subject matter is wide ranging. Topics for 2024: Future of Airships, Is Canada in decline?, Genetic Engineering, the Values in our society and other topics’.

We hope sessions are fun, and a great opportunity for some intellectual stimulation, together with socializing with interesting people from a variety of backgrounds.
