Current Events Discussion
Participants discuss national, local and international** current events. We aim to provide a place where people can explore ideas and express points of view in an educated and non-confrontational way.
The format of the meetings can be either:
Subject matter is wide ranging. This last Fall we investigated Terrorism,, Confirmation of Justice Brett Cavanagh, Calgary’s Olympic Bid and Proposed Changes to the Indian Act, among others. The sessions are fun, and a great opportunity for some intellectual stimulation, together with socializing with interesting people from a variety of backgrounds.
Note: The group will meet once a month in July and August, in a different location, due to renovations at Rosedale Community Hall:
We will return to the Rosedale Community Hall main floor Boardroom, 901-11 Ave. NW, in the Fall and meet twice a month, on the first and third Thursdays.
