World Events Discussion Group 3, Fridays

World Events 3, like Groups 1 and 2, focuses on current world events and International issues.  Members seek to broaden their knowledge and understanding of events and trends happening in all regions of the world. Meetings and discussions are held in a friendly, informal atmosphere.

Twice a year, each member volunteers to give an in-depth presentation on a recent world news event, in the first half of the meeting. The volunteer selects a recent event, and advises the group in advance by email, usually including a couple of relevant articles or links and some questions for the open discussion that will follow. In the second half, other members give two or three short presentations on other recent global events, followed again by lively discussion.
