TT Copper Canyon |
The Copper Canyon is four times larger than the Grand Canyon and up to 1000 ft deeper. It is located in the northwest corner of Mexico in the Sierra Madre Mountains and is accessible by one of the world's most spectacular train rides. Roger will talk about how to get there, what there is to see along the way, side trips, and what one can do and see in the canyon. He will also talk about the history of the area – 400 years of silver mining and how a renegade American politician brought significant development to the area. Our speaker spent 10 years studying the northern lights then the remainder of his career studying arctic sea ice for the oil industry. Since retirement, he has been involved in several volunteer projects including running a farmers’ market for his Lions Club for many years. This speaker has made presentations to CALL about his other trips. |
