The practice and health benefits of Mindfulness Meditation has gained much attention in the last decade in the western world. The popularity of Jon Kat Zinn’s courses in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, have lead neuroscientists to validate the effects of meditation in the brain.
In this course we will experience the health benefits of the meditative practices of, “paying attention on purpose, in the moment, without judgement”, as well as the benefits to health and well being of paying attention to the transitory nature of experience. The connection of these processes to the brain will also be discussed.
The upcoming course will include Mindfulness Awareness practices plus other wellness and well being practices from Dan Siegel’s Wheel of Awareness , Ingrid Ferrell Lee’s Joyful, Daniel Goleman and Richard J. Davidson’s Altered Traits, The Telomere Effect by Elizabeth Blackburn and Elissa Epel, and others.
All are welcome.
