Great Stories, Short Books

The group reads the work aloud which promotes close study of the text. Each author has been suggested by discussion arising from the previous works read.

This fall we will be reading The Aspern Papers by Henry James. This novella is based on the letters of Percy Bysshe Shelley to Claire Clairmont, the stepsister of his wife, Mary. The story is set in Venice.

In our second session we will read Edith Wharton’s The Age of Innocence and then Virginia Woolf’s To the Lighthouse.

Drop-ins are welcome.
Additional participants will be happily accepted.

Wi-fi is available.
