FILM NOIR CLASSIC CINEMA SERIES

This is a 7-part series of Film Noir classics from the 1940s and 1950s.

Price of admission is $5 on Tuesdays.

This is an opportunity to view some famous films, including Double Indemnity, The Maltese Falcon and The Lady from Shanghai. Film Noir is an American genre that encompasses a range of plots: the central figure may be a private investigator (The Big Sleep), a plainclothes policeman (The Big Heat), an aging boxer (The Set-Up), a hapless grifter (Night and the City), a law-abiding citizen lured into a life of crime (Gun Crazy), or simply a victim of circumstance (D.O.A.). 

This interest group will only go with a minimum registration of 25 (max. 100) CALL members in order to book an evening slot at a commercial theatre. Also the films will be advertised on the theatre’s website, film listings, and marquee so that the general public will be able to attend.

There will be a 5 minute introduction to each film plus a 15 minute audience Q&A after each film.
