GROUP 2:

We are a group of 7-8 memoir writers who begin with Free Fall writing for about 8 minutes. We arrive each time with something we have written and go around the table taking turns reading our pieces. After each reading the members critique what they have heard, offering suggestions about possible improvements or where the writer might want to expand on something. We welcome variety – we’ve had a poet, a ghost writer of a refugee memoir, some stories for grandchildren’s enjoyment and others for possible publication.

Our life stories shape us.  Writing our stories enables us to reflect on and recognize some of the important directions of our lives.  At each session, we provide a prompt/theme as a possible starting point for your next story submission. Stories are shared by email and we respond to each other’s stories. The responses are brought to the next meeting and discussed.  Our intent is to learn from each other, encourage each other and have some fun along the way. As time permits, in each session we also do a short free fall writing exercise.
