Modern Poetry: Discussion Group - * FULL *
This group will explore ways of approaching poetry with an emphasis on more modern poets, starting with the Beat Poets of the 1960’s and 70’s.
The sessions will be collaborative.
The group will meet by Zoom online, once a month on the 2nd Thursday of the month from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, from September to December. From January to June, if able, we will meet face to face.
One of the best ways of understanding how poetry works is to experiment with writing it. No experience needed.
If enough people are interested we could set up a subsidiary monthly meeting to share and respond to our own writing.
Ria Kinzel, who will facilitate, has led many poetry workshops for high school students and adults. Blue Light Press is currently publishing a book of her poems – though there seems to be some COVID-19 delay.
