NSCL  INFLUENCE OF THE PARABLE OF THE GOOD SAMARITAN ON  CANADIAN LAW

When asked by a lawyer what must be done to inherit eternal life, Jesus Christ responded with the Parable of the Good Samaritan. You probably know this story. What you don’t know is that the Good Samaritan parable has significantly influenced Canadian law.

The influence of this parable has resulted in changes to the law of negligence. "Good Samaritan statutes” have been enacted to shield individuals who act in good faith to voluntarily assist others in danger or distress. We will explore how these laws function across various provinces, including Alberta, and how they promote a culture of helping others in need.
