 LEIGHTON ART CENTRE

When setting out for a drive on a sunny Alberta afternoon, there are few places more appealing than the Leighton Art Centre.  Not far from Millarville, this combination of art gallery, museum, and rural pathways is unique in its location and purpose.  The fascinating house was designed in 1952 by the renowned painter A.C. Leighton as a home and art centre for himself and his wife Barbara.  Now the English Country Style house offers a wonderful opportunity for browsing through the work of artists from across Alberta.

A special benefit of the Centre is the number of courses which are offered for both children and adults. Topics have included painting, jewellery making and pottery.

Staff of the Leighton Art Centre will speak on the many features of this Provincial Historic Resource. They will provide stories of this rather hidden gem which is a benefit to so many Calgarians.
