The Ray Charles Tribute Orchestra

This concert pays homage to one of the greatest musicians of all time. A ten-piece ensemble of Calgary’s finest musicians recreate the one-of-a-kind sound of Ray Charles and they will perform such hits as Georgia on My Mind, What’d I Say, Hit the Road Jack, and Let the Good Times Roll among them.

The group was formed by Musical Director John Gray, bassist and leader on the Calgary Jazz scene, who toured with the Ray Charles Orchestra. The orchestra features Grammy Award-winning vocalist Donald Ray Johnson on lead vocals, and includes a solid rhythm section, a killer horn section, and three soulful backup singers, The Donald Raylettes.
