Shakespeare Studies

And they lived happily ever after...or not.  Is Kate an eager partner in a good marriage?  Or is she an abused woman doomed to a miserable life married to a domineering thug?  If she lived in 2020, would she be sharing her woes on #metoo, looking for a large settlement so she could recover a little of her human dignity?  Or would she be an ardent fan of Fawn Weaver and charter member of the Happy Wives Club?

Well, I think Shakespeare's rowdy bawdy play is about the wonders that can be seen when holding a mirror up to nature.  That is, as Hamlet reminds us, the purpose of playing.

All are welcome. There is lots of space.
