Iceland by Bike and on Foot

Iceland erupted out of the ocean floor a few million years ago and its volcanos are still at work crafting this, one of the world’s newest landmasses.  It was uninhabited until just a thousand years ago when the Vikings arrived but it’s 300,000 inhabitants and their erudite ancestors through their Sagas have painted a rich history rivalling that of any European country.

In 2015 I went to see the natural wonders and to embrace the Icelandic Sagas while cycling the island’s Ring Road. I was captivated and wanted more, so I went back in 2016, on my way to Norway, to hike the Laugavegur Trail, Iceland’s most popular long hike. Iceland might be the most photogenic place I have been.

I am Ken Myhre, a retired educator, and an addicted traveler.  This will be about my fourth presentation to CALL.  I will be showing some of my pictures and sharing a few experiences with all who are interested.  I will be happy try to answer your questions on Iceland or other places I have been.
