Literary Classics: The Great Gatsby

By F. Scott Fitzgerald

Through reading aloud and discussion we will come to a deeper understanding of this novel and its role in American literature set in the Jazz Age, the age of the ‘flapper’.

‘I see now that this has been the story of the West after all – Tom and Gatsby, Daisy and Jordan and I, were all Westerners, and perhaps we possessed some deficiency in common which made us subtly inadaptable to Eastern life.’

Reading in advance is recommended.

New members and drop-ins are welcome.

A waitlist will be established if necessary.
