The History of Self-Portraiture
Ryan Green of Masters Gallery will present an illustrated talk on self-portraiture. In it he will explore representations of the self from antiquity to the selfie. The presentation will be lecture-style so that participants can sit while they listen to Ryan and watch his digital images.
This special presentation for the CALL Arts and Humanities Speaker Series will take place at Masters Gallery.
Ryan Green is the owner and president of Masters Gallery Ltd. He is a dealer of Canadian historical, post war and contemporary art. He received his MA in Art History from the University of London, England and a BA in Art History from the University of Calgary. He has taught European and Canadian art history for the University of Calgary’s Fine Arts and continuing education departments. He is currently a board member of the Glenbow Museum and a distinguished patron of the National Gallery of Canada.
