Welcome to the Opera!

The Calgary Opera welcomes all CALL members to their Wednesday evening dress rehearsals.  This season, there are three magnificent performances! Members may choose to attend one, two or all three performances.

The Calgary Opera's range of performances is designed to appeal to veteran opera lovers, as well as members who are new to this musical genre. Typically, dress rehearsals run without any disruptions; however, the director has the right to briefly stop the rehearsal if a correction is required. Southern Jubilee Auditorium performances run approximately 2 ½ hours, including a short intermission. The opera bar is open before the show during the intermission.

Tickets are $20.00.

Please note, rehearsals have moved to Wednesday evening.

Operas will  feature the Calgary Opera Chorus, Cantare Children’s Choir, and the  Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra.

Buying Your Ticket: Three Purchase Options

1. Online purchase. A link will be placed here towards the end of September for direct online purchase. This link is supplied to us by the Calgary Opera, so please be patient. It will go live. Online purchase will allow you to reserve your seat, send you a QR code to scan at the door.
2. If you cannot purchase online, reserve your seat by calling the Opera Box Office at 403 262 7286, Monday - Friday, 12:00 -5:00. Payment is needed at the time of purchase.
3. Purchase a last minute ticket  at the Jubilee Auditorium Box Office on the  evening of the performance. The Jubilee Auditorium Box Office opens at 5:30

Reminders : all seats are reserved/assigned; only the 1st balcony and back main are open; rehearsals can sell out, so try to book in advance.  Due to very limited seating, this opportunity is for CALL members. Children or grandchildren are unfortunately not able to join you.

The Opera provides an excellent program for each show. This program is available to download one week before opening night.
