Meet in the Highwood Lobby
The Highwood, showcase of the SAIT Culinary Program, is a dynamic live classroom in which students and guests interact in an impressive restaurant.
We will be touring behind the scenes of the culinary operations in three groups starting at 11:00 am from the Highwood lobby. Our guides are Chef Rupert Kaupp - Cooking Chair, Chef Georg Windisch - Cooking Chair, and Andy Trache -Student Liaison.
The tour will include the kitchen operations, the main kitchen (the 4 Nines) and the Butchery and Bakery operations. The order in which you will see the operations will depend on your group. This is necessary as they are operating a life classroom environment and can only tour a maximum of 15 people through the kitchens at a time.
NOTE: The tour will span three floors (basement, main floor and second floor) and there will be a bit of walking as well as two flights of stairs between each floor.
If you do not wish to go on the tour, please come for lunch only at the Highwood at 11:30 AM.
Cost: $33.00 (including Gratuity and GST)
The set menu will feature a beef entree as main course and include soup, rolls, dessert and tea and coffee.
Alcoholic Beverages will be billed separately with one bill per table (please bring cash).
This event is limited to 40 participants. You must be a CALL member to attend.
