LARC Municipal governments and immigration policy in Chile - creating policy from the bottom-up

Speaker: Elizabeth Pando

Ms. Pando is a Political Science doctoral student at the U of C, studying Comparative Politics and International Relations, and a former LARC Graduate Student in Residence.

She obtained her M.A. (Interdisciplinary Studies) and B.A. (Philosophy) at the University of Texas at El Paso.

Her research interests include Latin American immigration policies in, as well as policies of transnational domestic and care work.

Her dissertation looks at immigration policies in Chile adopted during the two terms of Michelle Bachelet, the country’s first woman president.
