Great Big Sing is all about the pure joy of singing with others. Singing is a proven stress-reliever that also stimulates the immune system and, when done collectively, provides a heightened sense of well-being and inclusion.

For some people, singing comes easily. For others, it can be more stressful. The aim of Great Big Sing is to appeal to both groups while emphasizing no judgement, no performances, no observers, and no recording. Previous singing experience is not necessary. If you come to sing, then you're a singer.

We'll sing without accompaniment, no sheet music or lyrics in hand, while learning easy songs from a variety of cultures.

Claire's music background is varied. Great Big Sing adapts the philosophy of M. Boyd's "No Wrong Notes" program which she helped Ms. Boyd run for The Calgary Public Library. There are no wrong notes, just new notes. Claire has studied a variety of instruments; sung with various choirs; studied conducting; taught elementary school music; enjoyed weekly volunteering by singing with residents of a Memory Care Floor.
