Children's Literature

A special thank you to Dr. Carrie Kollias,  orthopedic surgeon and emerging children's author who presented to us from her book Maria's Marvelous Bones. Carrie's insights into finding an illustrator, publishing and marketing will be helpful for those who want to pursue their creative writing skills towards any age level. Carrie is listed in the Kirkus Review and also in the recent Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada newsletter.  The Canadian Orthopedic Association Medical Journal, of which Carrie is a member of COA, states "Maria's Marvelous Bones embraces gender and cultural diversity in healthcare". We look forward to hearing more of Maria's safer adventures as she learns from the healthcare team who work together in patient treatment and advocacy. An excellent read.  Congratulations to Maria's Marvelous Bones for being the #1 best seller for fiction in Saturday, October 13's Calgary Herald.
