Wednesdays, 1:00 -3:00 pm; April 26, May 10 and 24, June 14 and 28th.
This interest group offers opportunities for you to take photographs of nature – flowers and plants, birds, possibly wild animals, pets etc. The main activities will be field trips to take the photographs, then discussion times to review our photos and find interesting ways of using them. You will need a digital camera, and a sense of adventure and fun when taking photos. You don’t require great experience or skill in photography, but you should be familiar with your camera.
We will meet the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month starting April 26 at C Space, 1721 29 Avenue SW, from 1-3 pm. We may do field trips between meetings or instead of the meetings.
The maximum number of participants 20.
Dorothy George will be facilitating this group. Dorothy co-facilitated the digital photography group last year. This is how she describes her interest in and experience with photography:
“I started taking photographs when I first travelled overseas. That was a few years ago. Over the years I’ve done a lot of travel photography. Somewhere along the way I got interested in taking photos of flowers and gardens, mostly because my Dad’s garden was so great. I’ve always liked hiking and bird watching so that got added to my photos. Now I do a lot of scenery, flowers and birds. I use these to make greeting cards and inspirational messages.”
